Effective communication is a skill that all finance professionals should master. Increasingly, accountants are playing a role in the strategic direction of organisations and interacting with more internal and external stakeholders. Highly effective communication skills are therefore critical in fulfilling the contribution finance professionals can make to an organisation. This session introduces some of the key concepts underpinning good communication.

ACCA/FAP Qualifications – how they can help develop a career in accountancy (20.30 - 21.00)

An introduction to the FAP/ACCA Foundation Certificate in Technical Accounting (FCTA) and Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualifications.

About Mr. Rhys Johnson:

Mr. Rhys Johnson started his career working for Price Waterhouse, a leading accountancy firm, where he qualified as a chartered accountant. Having moved into Price Waterhouse’s training department in 1990 he has been continually involved in some aspect of professional training and education ever since. He led Ernst & Young’s Business Community Training in Bahrain and was Head of Education for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK. While working in the latter role he was responsible for the development of the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification and undertaking a major review of the ACCA professional qualification.
